Made my way to Shànghăi Pǔdōng international airport. Caught a Delta Air Lines flight to Seattle. Direct, 11 hours.
Flew in Premium Select seating, which I found pretty disappointing compared to Comfort+. Not worth the premium, in my opinion. Basic Economy would probably just be fine next time.
Sat next to a gentleman named Albert from Seattle who worked for a major video game developer. He had been in Shànghăi helping to host a gaming competition and represent his company. He was actually on television—pretty cool! We burned a few hours of the flight having some great conversations about a wide array of topics. He was an excellent seat-mate.
I tried to get some sleep on the plane, but wasn’t able to make it happen. Maybe if I’d stayed up the night before instead of sleeping proper. Instead I caught up on a bunch of movies. No WiFi over the Pacific Ocean, so wasn’t able to browse the net or communicate with anyone.
Landed in KSEA around mid-day. US Customs was a breeze compared to Chinese customs (which is always a nightmare). Checked-in with my company and was issued hotel standby for the following day.
